Google Workspace - Problem with PDF settings when printing from GMail mailbox in Chrome

Hello,

we are looking for a setting.

When I go to the GMail mailbox of a certain user in Chrome, click on a mail with PDF file, preview this PDF file in Chrome, the PRINTER icon appears in the upper right corner. If I now click on it, the print window opens, and I can print.

However, for this user, the file is immediately saved to his download directory and I don’t know why.

I have already set/checked the following:

Default printer in Windows

Chrome settings reset

User logged in and out → However, the print function works fine as long as the user does not sync.

Hello!

This sounds like an interesting problem!

As it only happens when the particular user syncs, it seems to be either their settings or their addons.

If you’ve already reset the user’s settings, I’d take a look at the plugins first.

One setting you could test is found here: chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments

I had already disabled all plugins and that didn’t change anyting.

However, your tip with chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments was actually the solution!
