On all your pages there is a cookie banner which allows me to accept or decline cookies, what happens in the background when I press the buttons?

The cookie banner is indeed displayed on all our pages during your first visit.
Generally speaking, the mentioned cookies are only third-party cookies which, for example, allow an analysis of the page views. It is important to know in general that cookies are delivered by default. You now have two options regarding the cookies we are using:
- You accept the usage of cookies by us and do not have to do anything else with it.
- You object to the usage of cookies by us, which means that no new cookies are set because this setting is also stored in a (functional, not third-party) cookie.
As a third option, you can also update the same setting in our customer portal under “Update consent”.
Finally, it is important to note that we do not have any technical possibility to delete cookies from other pages in your web browser. This means for you that it is possible that third-party cookies used by us in the past are still present even after you have objected. This is as said a purely technical constraint and we have no influence on it. In this case you would have to remove the third-party cookies manually. Please make sure that you do not also delete the cookie that stores your consent or rejection as well. Otherwise, you will see the banner again the next time you visit our site. Nevertheless, your objection will in any case ensure that we will no longer use any new third-party cookies from that point onward.
