Is there any documentation on ‘Firescope’ the secure gateway server? I can’t find anything on the Atlassian Marketplace. I need to discuss this with my technical due diligence colleagues.

There is a detailed documentation on the Linchpin Gateway Service which internal name is “Firescope” on this page: Linchpin Mobile Gateway - Security Concept.
This should be sufficient for your technical due diligence colleagues. To cut a long story short: All communication between the Linchpin Mobile app on the smartphone and your Confluence instance (behind the firewall) is end to end encrypted. The gateway server is just a routing hop like any other server and cannot see any contents. Neither the gateway server nor the app have or store any credentials like username or passwords.
Firescope was inspected by a lot of big organizations and approved.
